Fossils

The Givetian age is based on the brachiopod Stringocephalus burtini discovered by Pham Dinh Long in the Ha Lang area (East Bac Bo), and by conodonts Polygnathus xylus xylus, Pol. varcus, Pol. linguiformis collected in the Ban Cai area (West Bac Bo) (Doan Nhat Truong, Ta Hoa Phuong 2003). The Frasnian age of the formation is based on foraminifera Eonodosaria evlanensis, Eogeinitziana aff. rara, Nanicella aff. uralica, and Tikhinella multiformis’, and conodonts of the Palmatolepis hassi and Pa. rhenana Zones.
